Bennington woman found in possession of 17 bags of heroin

BENNINGTON >> An East Road woman is accused of concealing 17 bags of heroin in her clothes.

Jennifer M. Yannotti, 24, pleaded not guilty Monday in Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division Bennington Unit to a felony count of heroin possession. She was released without bail under a number of conditions, among them that she not leave the county.

According to an affidavit by Bennington Police, on July 28 Yannotti was pulled over on East Road by an officer who knew her driver's license was civilly suspended. Yannotti had been pulled over the day before for the same reason, and it was there police found syringes and a used bag of heroin in her vehicle.

At the stop on July 28, Yannotti appeared more nervous than usual for a traffic stop. While being questioned, she turned over 17 bags of heroin that were concealed in her clothing.
