Bennington Area Habitat auction and tag sale

EAST DORSET -- If you are looking for a kayak (there are 3) or canoe, a motor scooter or a wide selection of household items, the Bennington Area Habitat for Humanity Auction and Tag Sale on Saturday, July 13, is the place to go. Preview and tag sale at A Safe Place Self-Storage in East Dorset begin at 9 a.m., with the auction gavel falling at 10 a.m. Clarke Comollo is the auctioneer with food provided by the Gourmet Deli.

A partial preview of items can be seen at They include: Adirondack chairs and picnic tables made by Burr and Burton Academy students, Mosser collectible glass clowns, Claire Murray 3-foot by 5-foot hooked rug et. al., pictures, digital camera, lens, couches, corner cupboard, Orvis bamboo fishing rod and reel, 360 square feet of 18-inch tile, rugs, antiques, toys, bed frames, 1911 Singer treadle sewing machine, doll houses, desks, wardrobes, corner cupboard, sideboard, armoires and much more.

All funds raised at this event will be directed to the 14th Habitat house which is in the first stage of construction on Jennifer Lane in Manchester in partnership with Shannon and Lori Gordon and their four children. A Brush with Kindness program is operating in the Bennington Southshire, volunteers doing minor interior and exterior repairs to make a home safer, healthier and more energy efficient. Habitat for Humanity puts faith into action, seeks to bring people together to build homes locally and throughout the world. Money raised locally, stays local. BAHfH gets no financial support from Habitat International.
