BBA holds on to defeat Fair Haven


FAIR HAVEN >> The Burr and Burton Academy boys basketball team was able to hold on for their 10th win of the season on Tuesday night, with a 49-46 victory over Fair Haven.

Carter Vickers led the way for the Bulldogs, scoring a team-high 22 points and also had a team-high 12 rebounds in the win.

Freshman Jake Nicholson had nine points in the win for BBA as well.

BBA led 30-16 at halftime, before Fair Haven made a run in the second half to cut the deficit to single digits.

With the win the Bulldogs improve to 10-5 on the season.

BBA's next game will be at home against Rutland on Friday night at 7 p.m.

SVC women's basketball team drops tough one to Newbury

BROOKLINE, MA. >> The Southern Vermont College women's basketball team were upset by now five-win Newbury on Tuesday night, by a score of 74-61.

The Mountaineers main problem all game was not being able to stop Newbury's Savannah Olsen, who scored a game-high 26 points in the win for the Nighthawks.

Leading the way for SVC was senior Amber Flagg, who scored a team-high 17 points in the contest.

Senior Turquoia Johnson had 11 points in the loss for SVC as well.

With the loss, the Mountaineers fall to 9-8 on the season and 6-4 in the New England Collegiate Conference.

SVC's next game will be at home against Bay Path on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
