Bakers, fun makers wanted for fundraising event
BENNINGTON -- The Cancer Center Community Crusaders will host their premiere event on May 31 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. The Cupcake Crusade and Community Remembrance will feature a cupcake tasting contest, entertainment, children’s activities, and food vendors from 2-6:30 p.m. A candle lighting ceremony and time of reflection will follow from 6:30 p.m. until dark.
Community organizations, families, friend groups and anyone else who would like to join the crusade to raise funds and support local cancer patients and local cancer research are invited to join the celebration and set up a game booth or activity to benefit the event. No commercial vendors please. Carnival games are especially encouraged. Groups are also invited to form a crew and take part in the Cupcake Crusade. There is a small fee to enter the contest. Participants must bring a dozen full-size cupcakes for the judges and 48 mini-cupcakes for the crowd to sample. Be creative and express the meaning of the word "Survivor" in your entry.
For information on how to register to participate, call Beth Dillard at 802-440-4239 or e-mail email@example.com. Registration by May 1 is requested.
