40 years of musical scholarships
Past scholarship winners have gone on to perform in their own bands, with large ensembles and have even performed on Broadway. This year we have adjusted the scholarship to be given to one winner in the sum of $1,000. We encourage any student in high school who loves music and has a talent and desire to continue their education in music to submit an application to audition.
We have five professional musical judges this year, including, BCCS Choral Director Cailin Marcel Manson, BCCS Accompanist Matt Edwards, Hugh Keelan, Ken Olsson and June Olsson. Deadline for submission is Oct. 7. The auditions will be held Oct. 20 at 6:30pm, Second Congregational Church, Hill Street, Bennington. Venue is handicap accessible.

About the Bennington County Choral Society
The society has been active for decades. The oldest found record is from 1966 when it started rehearsing in, what was then the new high school, Mount Anthony Union High School. It is rumored to be more than 70 years old. The Bennington County Choral Society is a mixed adult chorus of voices drawn from southern Vermont and nearby New York and Massachusetts communities. It aims to foster an environment in which chorus members coalesce as a group and develop as an ensemble, with the goal of growing musically through weekly rehearsals and performances that are a source of pride and pleasure.
