2 NY men face charges involving teen girls
HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Police said that a Wall Street man was arraigned on felony rape charges Thursday after allegedly sexually assaulting an underage girl in the village last month.
Duvan Leblanc, 35, was charged in the Hoosick Falls Village Court Thursday with a third degree felony criminal sex act, third degree felony rape, and two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to Hoosick Falls Police Chief Robert Ashe.
The incident was said to have occurred on April 21, after Leblanc met two underage girls in the village and invited them back to his residence to watch movies.
Ashe said that Leblanc then forcibly assaulted one of the girls, age 16. Leblanc was arraigned and sent to Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
In an unrelated case earlier this month, the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office reported that a man was arraigned in the Town of Hoosick Court after allegedly having inappropriate contact with a 13-year-old.
Police said that Kenneth Begin had inappropriate contact with the girl in West Hoosick. Begin was arrested and charged on May 8 with a Class A misdemeanor forcible touching and a misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. Begin was released on his own recognizance pending a later court appearance and with an order to stay away from the girl.
