ALBANY, N.Y. - Rev. Kenneth Doyle, Chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority announced that Vermont Translines has begun serving Albany International Airport with bus service that will link Airport travelers to major Vermont cities and popular destinations. The service started June 9.
The new routes, funded by the Vermont Agency for Transportation (VTrans) and the Federal Transit Administration, include service from Burlington to Albany International Airport via Rutland and Bennington.
"Public Transit is essential to many Vermonters, and a strong system is in the best interests of the state," said Gov. Peter Shumlin. "It is clear that we need to expand intercity service in Vermont, which is why we directed the Agency of Transportation to study the issue two years ago.
"Vermont Translines will provide Vermont residents and those that that travel through the Albany International Airport with new and convenient links to Vermont and its popular vacation sites," said Rev. Kenneth Doyle, Chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority.
"Our entire team is excited to work with the Vermont Agency of Transportation to bring safe, reliable and meaningful connections to and from Vermont," said Randy Charlebois of Premier Coach, the Vermont company that will operate Vermont Translines. "We look forward to serving Vermonters and those visiting Vermont with a comfortable, affordable and environmentally friendly mode of transportation.
Reservations for Vermont Translines buses can be made by accessing the line's website at vttranslines.com or by calling 1-844-888-7267. Tickets can also be purchased on the Vermont Translines buses at the time of boarding.
Vermont Translines will operate seven days a week. The Vermont Translines bus is schedule to depart Burlington at 7:30 a.m., Rutland at 10:05 a.m. and Bennington at 11:30 a.m. and arrive at Albany International Airport at 12:35 p.m. Vermont Translines will depart Albany International Airport at 2:25 p.m. and arrive in Bennington at 3:30 p.m., Rutland at 4:55 p.m. and Burlington at 7:30 p.m.
