ST. JOHNSBURY >> Vermont State Police say a man wearing camouflage and carrying a gun pulled over a driver Friday night but didn't identify himself as a police officer.
The driver called police after the man, driving a silver Nissan with New York plates, flashed his high-beams and hazard lights to pull the driver over. There were no markings on the car and no flashing blue lights.
The man advised the driver he was speeding and told him to slow down.
State police say if someone's being pulled over and they don't see blue flashing lights or clear strobes, it may not be a police officer. The driver should call 911 to ask if they're really being pulled over or go to the nearest police department for assistance.
