BOSTON >> A 26-year-old Quincy man has been sentenced to two consecutive life sentences for the 2012 fatal shooting of two one-time friends on a Boston street in broad daylight.

A judge on Monday handed down the sentence to Keon Monteiro after he was convicted last week of killing Sean Repetto and Victor Otoadese.

Prosecutors say on Nov. 28, 2012, Monteiro shot Repetto in the head before gunning down Otoadese as he ran away, hitting him in the head and torso.

Repetto died shortly after being shot. Otoadese succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on Dec. 6, 2012.

Monteiro was arrested in May 2013.

Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley says consecutive life terms were the appropriate sentence.
