WHITE RIVER JUNCTION >> A handful of Bennington Marauders swimmers finished in the top 10 on Saturday at the state championships at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center.

Emily Tibbetts finished in the top three in three events in the 8U bracket, including a win in the 50 freestyle in 36.80 seconds. She was second in the 25 free in 16.72 and third in the 100 individual medley in 1 minute, 43.84 seconds.

In the 15-18 bracket, Phebe Hall had three top-five runs — a fourth in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.27, a fifth in the 100 fly in 1:07.06 and fifth in the 50 fly in 28.73.

Others to earn multiple top 10 finishes included Amelia Zazzaro with a fifth in the 25 free and an eighth in the 25 back; Elyse Altland was fourth in the 100 backstroke, eighth in the 100 IM and 10th in the 50 free and Lexie Pedersen was ninth in the 25 back and 10th in the 50 free.

Zoey Zazzaro was ninth in the 25 free and 11th in the 50 free; Emily Barilone was seventh in the 200 free; Shay Callahan was 11th in the 25 back, while Grace Burhans was 11th in the 100 back.

The 10U 100 free relay was 11th overall as well with Callahan, Kendal Madison, Catherine Bitteker and Zoey Zazzaro.

On the boys side, Anthony Mazzola finished in the top 10 in three different events in the 13-14 age bracket. Mazzola was fourth in the 100 back in 1:14.03, sixth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:19.49 and ninth in the 100 IM with a time of 1:10.09.

Nolan Byer was top 11 in three different races, including sixth in the 200 free in 2:27.82, seventh in the 50 fly and 11th in the 100 IM. Zach LaForest was third in the 50 free in 24.53 in the 15-18 age bracket and ninth in the 100 back in 1:11.45.

Andrew Cowder, in the 7-8 age group, was eighth in the 25 free and eighth in the 25 back. Other top 10 performances include Camden Madison's fourth in the 11-12 100 IM in 1:20.65 and Morgan Flynn's ninth in the 100 fly.
