WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — The Mount Anthony baseball team allowed eight runs in the final three innings of an 8-1 loss to Hartford on Monday.
Ryan O'Neill pitched 5 1-3 innings in the loss for MAU, with only four of the eight Hartford runs earned.
Noah Normyle knocked in the lone Patriot run of the day on a RBI single that gave MAU the lead in the first.
With the loss, MAU drops to 7-7 on the season. The Patriots will try to end the regular season on a high note when they host Rutland on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
BBA extends winning streak to seven
MANCHESTER >> The Burr and Burton girls lacrosse team got their seniors a nice win on Senior Day, with a 21-10 victory over Rutland to extend their winning streak to seven straight games.
Leading 9-7 at the half, the Bulldogs outscored Rutland by eight in the second half.
Jessie Forstmann scored a team-high six goals in the contest for the Bulldogs, Aggie Bisselle and Bella Dworkin each dished out a team-high three assists, while Bisselle also knocked in five goals and Dworkin slammed across three goals of her own.
Shayla Heekin scored four goals in the win as well for BBA.
As a part of senior day, BBA honored their seniors: Aggie Bisselle, Cali Wadsworth, Cat Greenberg, Kate Lochner and Amelia Nick during the pregame festivities.
With the win, BBA improves to 9-5 on the season.
The Bulldogs will look to end the regular season on a eight game winning streak when they travel to play rival Mount Anthony on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.
Hoosick Falls drops first round matchup to Emma Willard
TROY, N.Y. >> The Hoosick Falls girls lacrosse team season came to a close on Monday, when the Panthers lost to Emma Willard in the first round of the Section II, Class C tournament by a the score of 16-7.
Lillian Hickey scored a team-high two goals in the loss.
Seniors Jordyn Haynes, Olivia Cushman, Kara LaFlamme and Anna Wysocki each scored a goal in their final game for Hoosick Falls, while Madeline Yeung had eight saves in net for the Panthers.
