RUTLAND — The Mount Anthony softball team continues to pulverize the ball, this time an 18-0 rout over Rutland on Tuesday.

Lauren Woodcock and Jordyn Upright were both 3-for-5, Woodcock with a pair of doubles and an RBI, while Upright had three singles and four driven in.

Cat Worthington continued her hot hitting with another homer, her fourth in four games, in a 2-for-5 performance.

MAU is 9-1 and travels to Bellows Falls on Thursday.

Patriots fall to Rutland after big innings

RUTLAND >> The Mount Anthony baseball team took an early lead against Rutland before the Raiders went ahead in the third inning of a 12-4 win.

Carter Bentley, Brody Farnum and Bryce Bush all had two hits, Bush's hits were both doubles.

Austin Condo took the loss for MAU, who are 6-3 and travel to Burr and Burton on Friday.

MAU still perfect

BENNINGTON >> The Mount Anthony girls tennis team racked up another victory on Tuesday, a 7-0 rout over Mount St. Joseph.

All the wins were in straight sets, including walkovers in the No. 5 singles and No. 2 doubles.

MAU remains perfect at 8-0 and faces Otter Valley today.

Bulldogs remain unblemished

HARTFORD >> The Burr and Burton baseball team continued its strong play in the first half of the season with an 8-2 win over Hartford on Tuesday, remaining perfect at 9-0 on the year.

Griff Stalcup took the win on the mound, pitching four innings and allowing two runs and three hits.

The big blow for the Bulldogs was a bases-clearing double in the fourth by Cody Roberts.

BBA hosts Mount Anthony in a game scheduled for Friday.

Indians top Mechanicville

CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. >> The Cambridge baseball team got three hits from Jake Harrington and a complete game from Patrick Robertson in a 7-2 win over Mechanicville.

Harrington added an RBI and a run scored, while Robertson was sharp, allowing only three hits and striking out seven. Cambridge is 2-9 in the Wasaren League and needs two wins in its final three games to make the sectionals.
