BENNINGTON >> The Marble Valley League girls all-star teams for all four division were announced on Tuesday, with Mount Anthony Union High School leading the way for four postseason honors.

Starting off the all-star honors for MAU were juniors Madison Little and Brianna Legacy, who both made first team all Division I in the MVL for the Patriots.

Senior Kathryn Frasier followed up with second team all-league honors for MAU as well.

The last all-star recognition for the Patriots was for head coach Brian Harrington, who was named MVL Division I Coach of the Year as the Patriots finished 11-11 on the season and made it to the second round of the Vermont state tournament

Senior Hannah Nicholson earned first team all league honors for Burr and Burton Academy, while fellow senior teammate Tessa Roberts made second team all-league for the Bulldogs, who finished with a 6-15 record.

For Division IV, the Arlington Memorial girls basketball team had two players receive all-star honors.

Leading the way for the Eagles was senior Avery Bucchieri, who made first team all MVL for Arlington.

Junior Riley Lane was the last all-star recipient for the Eagles, earning second team all-league honors for her splendid play for Arlington this season.

Arlington finished at 8-14 on the season and made it to the second round of the Vermont state tournament.

BBA, MAU have host of skiers earn MVL NODS

BENNINGTON >> The all star selections for the Marble Valley League Nordic Skiing teams were announced on Tuesday.

Both boys and girls classic and freestyle teams were announced, with Burr and Burton Academy leading the way with five all-star nods.

On the boys side, Scott Mooney, Neil Thorley and Anders Profit all received honors for both all MVL classic and freestyle teams.

For the BBA girls, Helena Bigelow and Raili Utiger each made both made all MVL freestyle and classic teams for the Bulldogs.

Carly Gayda made all league classic team for BBA as well.

The Mount Anthony Union High School Nordic skiing team also had a host of kids earn all-star honors, with four receiving all-star honors.

For the MAU boys, only Thomas Hendery received all-star honors for the Patriots, making the all MVL classic team.

The MAU girls had three skiers earn all-star honors.

Leading the way for the Patriots was Allie Boudreau, who earned both all MVL honors in freestyle and classic for the Patriots.

Emily Altland and Erica Hale made the all league classic team for the Patriots as well.

MAU girls finished fifth, while the Patriots boys team finished sixth in their respective competitions in the Division I section of the Vermont state tournament that was held last week at the Rikert Nordic Center.

BBA girls placed fourth in Division II, while the boys placed sixth.
