NASHUA, NH. >> The Southern Vermont College men's and women's basketball teams both got big wins on Thursday night respectively against Daniel Webster College.
The SVC men's basketball team improved to 11-3 on the season with a 90-71 victory over Daniel Webster.
Leading 38-31 at the half, the Mountaineers pulled away from the Eagles in the second half and cruised to a 19-point victory.
With the win, the SVC men's basketball team extends its winning streak to three straight games.
On the women's side, the SVC women's basketball team staged a fourth quarter comeback to beat the Eagles.
Down by one going into the fourth quarter, the Mountaineers outscored Daniel Webster 27-16 in the final period to win by a final score of, 82-70.
The win makes it two straight victories for the SVC women's basketball. They are now 8-5 on the season and 5-1 in the New England Collegiate Conference.
Both the SVC men's and women's basketball teams next games will be on Saturday at home against Wheelock.
The SVC women's basketball team will start things off against Wheelock at 12 p.m. and the SVC men's basketball team will follow with their game against Wheelock at 3 p.m.
Arlington boys basketball team losing streak is extended to two in loss against Proctor
PROCTOR >> The Arlington Memorial High School boys basketball team lost their second straight game with a 79-34 defeat at the hands of Proctor.
Junior Darren Golden had a team-high nine points in the loss for Arlington.
Freshman Jack Lane had six points in the third loss of the season for the Eagles as well.
With the loss, the Eagles fall to 6-3 on the season and are on a season-high two game losing streak.
After losing two straight on the road, Arlington will try get back on the winning track as they host Blue Mountain on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.
