BBA girls hockey falls to Hartford

MANCHESTER >> Giving up two goals early in the game, the Burr and Burton Academy girls hockey team couldn't get over the hump in a 2-1 loss on Monday.

Megan Boardman and Emily Ballou tallied in the first period for Hartford and freshman goalie Maggie Gilman made it stand up with 35 saves.

Ashley Poddick scored her first varsity goal with 6:27 left for BBA's sole tally, assisted by Aggie Bisselle.

"We have to start better in the first period, we didn't give up a lot of shots in the last two periods, but we have to be stronger in the first," said BBA (1-6) coach Ed Lewicki.

Molly Dingley had 11 saves, including some 'highlight-reel' saves in the second and third period.
