GREAT BARRINGTON — The Mount Anthony Union High School girls basketball team got back on the winning track Tuesday night with a 57-47 victory over Monument Mountain.
Madison Little had a team-high 22 points, while teammate Brianna Legacy had a great night as well, scoring 21 points in the Patriots' win.
MAU's next game will on Saturday against Spaulding at Rutland High School in the North-South Challenge.
Panthers best Cambridge in boys basketball
CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. >> The Hoosick Falls Central School boys basketball team beat Wasaren League rival Cambridge on Tuesday night, 62-38. Connor McCart had a game-high 22 points on the night, while Remington Hickey added 16 points of his own to the Panthers' victory as well.
Shawn Lemieux had a team-high 11 points for Cambridge in the Indians' third straight loss, after starting the season off 3-0.
The win also marks the 299th career win for Hoosick Falls coach Mike Lilac in his coaching career.
He will go for win 300 when the Panthers host Stillwater on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
Eagles stop skid with win over Poultney
POULTNEY >> The Arlington Memorial High School girls basketball team stopped its two game losing skid on Tuesday, with a 39-35 victory over Poultney.
Junior Riley Lane had a team-high 17 points in the game for the Eagles. Senior Avery Bucchieri followed Lane's great night up with eight points of her own, while fellow senior Michelle O'Shea had six points as well in the team's second win of the season.
The Eagles will host Twin Valley in their next game on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
Hoosick Falls bowling beats North Warren
HOOSICK, N.Y. >> Tuesday marked a season high scoring mark for the Hoosick Falls Central School bowling team, who beat North Warren 4-0. The Panthers racked a season high 3,673 points on the day in the win.
Jennifer Sargood had a match high of 665 total pins on the afternoon. Her teammates Josh McCart and Kyla Day each had a great day on the lanes as well, scoring a total of 656 and 633 pins respectively.
"This was the best overall team effort on varsity that we have had all year," said Hoosick Falls coach Bob Lang. "I hope that we can continue our great bowling [today] in our match against Whitehall."
Hoosick Falls is now a perfect 28-0 on the season. They are currently in first place in the Wasaren League.
