BENNINGTON -- Marble Valley League All-Stars were announced on Thursday, and a host of area athletes are on the teams.

In baseball, Mount Anthony Union High School’s Matt Upright was named to the first team, while Burr and Burton Academy had Noah Rizio and Adam Maitland named to the team. On the honorable mentions list, MAU’s Marcus LaFlamme, Shea Mooney and Ellis Baker were honored.

In softball, MAU’s Kate Goodell and Makayla Farrara were named to the first team, while teammates Baylee Ports and Julie Elwell were on the honorable mentions list.

MAU coach Paul Reif was named Coach of the Year for boys lacrosse, while Avery Peck and Nick Altland were named to the first team.

On the second team, MAU’s Layne Trafton, Luke Keenan, Otis Selib, Ben Prandini, Antonio Mintrone and Jackson Thibodeau made the cut while Burr and Burton Academy had Tom Morgantini, Ben Alexopoulos and Mike Sztorc honored.

Hoosiers win

BRUNSWICK, N.Y. -- The Hoosick Falls Hoosiers softball team picked up another win on Thursday, topping Brunswick 9-5.

Alyssa Ellis got the win in the circle for the Hoosiers, while Maddy Ryan went 4-4 at the plate with a double and three singles. Chelsea Stevens was 3-3 with four RBIs, and Cheyenne Guetti had three hits and a pair of runs scored in the win.

Horseshoe tournament

BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Horseshoe Club will host a tournament to honor long-time player Leon O’Dell and his 50 years of play at the club.

Lax camp registration

BENNINGTON -- The Southern Vermont Youth Lacrosse Camp for boys will be held from July 14 to July 17 at Willow Park in Bennington.

Boys from kindergarten through second grade will go from 9 a.m to 11 a.m. with a registration fee of $75, while grade three through 10 will go from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for a registration fee of $150.

Lady Patriots basketball camp July 14-18

BENNINGTON -- The Lady Patriot Basketball School will run the week of July 14 through the 18th at Mount Anthony Union High School for players between the ages of 7 and 14.

Bennington Basketball School looking for campers

BENNINGTON -- Mount Anthony Union High School boys basketball coach Dan Sleeman is still accepting basketball players for his Bennington Basketball School for Boys camp. The program will run from July 7 through July 11. Age group 12-15 will practice from 8 a.m. to noon, while the 7-11 age group will run from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

This is the 43rd year of the Bennington Basketball School.

SVC basketball camp

BENNINGTON -- Registration is open for the Southern Vermont College basketball camp. Interested boys and girls entering grades 3 to 11 can sign up by going to the SVC website and downloading a camp brochure.

The camp will run four separate weeks: June 30 to July 2, July 14 to 18, July 21 to 25 and August 4 to 8. Each day’s session goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with Friday from the last three weeks ending at noon.

Storm fundraiser

BENNINGTON -- The Southern Vermont Storm will host a volleyball tournament in honor of Jesse Roy on June 28 at JC’s Tavern in Bennington.

The tournament will be double elemination, and will feature teams of four. The games will be rally scoring to 25.

Archery competition

SHAFTSBURY -- On Sunday, June 22, the Catamount Bow Hunters will be hosting a Tri-State 3D Competition.

Registration on Sunday is from 7 a.m. to noon and is $12 for adults and $5 for youth. Cubs are free with a paid adult.

Member and non-members are each welcome and there will be food and beverages available.
