BENNINGTON -- Mount Anthony Union High School boys tennis coach Ken Turn thought that his number one singles player, Blake Greenawalt, let a match get away from him in the Patriot's 4-3 loss to Bellows Falls last week.

On Wednesday, Greenawalt made sure there wasn't a repeat, winning 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4) to help guide the Patriots to a 4-3 decision at the Rec Park.

Brian Murphy and Hao Guo also won in two sets for the Patriots, while Flavio Iudica fell 4-6, 6-1, 2-10 at fourth singles and Ben Michon, in the highlight match of the contest, won 6-2, 2-6, 10-6 at fifth singles.

MAU forfeited at second doubles and the first doubles team of Hazi Qari and Nick Gauthier fell 6-3, 6-1.

MAU is now 5-5 on the year.

Bulldogs win in extras

BRANDON -- Down three runs early, the Burr and Burton Academy baseball team battled back to top Otter Valley 9-4 in eight innings on Wednesday.

Ryan Smith got the start for BBA, but it was Griff Stalcup who picked up the win in relief.

Otter Valley jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third when Mike Winslow hit an RBI single, but the Bulldogs found their mojo starting in the fourth when Noah Rizio brought in a run on a single. Later in the inning, Taylor Muench hit a single that brought in two runs, one batted in and one on an error, to tie things up.

BBA took the lead in the seventh off a sac fly from Seth Wilkins, but then John Winslow tied it in the bottom frame to send it to extras.

In the extras, Wilkins hit a triple with the bases loaded to blow open the contest.

BBA is now 4-6 on the year.

BBA softball wins

MANCHESTER -- In a high scoring contest on Wednesday, the Burr and Burton Academy softball team outlasted Twin Valley 16-12.

Caitlyn Arellano picked up the win in the circle for the Bulldogs.

At the plate, Rachel Senecal was 4-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Lauren Gutierrez went 3-5 with two RBIs, Katelyn Reilly was 3-5 with two RBIs and Rachel Foster went 2-3 with three RBIs.

BBA is now 3-7 on the year.

Patriots crush Hurricanes

BENNINGTON -- The Mount Anthony Union High School girls lacrosse team put a hurting on Hartford on Wednesday, winning 18-4.

Emily Cross had six goals and a helper for the Patriots, while Erica Hale had three goals and an assist. Bridget Ahearn, Emily Altland and Taylor Palmer all had two goals.,

Emma Cole scored all four for Hartford.

Sam Mayer made eight saves for the Patriots in the first half.

MAU is now 7-3 on the year. HFCS baseball downed

HOOSICK, N.Y. -- The Hoosick Falls Central School baseball team opened up an early lead on Hoosic Valley on Thursday, but the Indians scored four unanswered to take a 4-2 win.

Peter Muratorri drove in the first run for Hoosick Falls, while the second came in on a fielder's choice. Alex LaBarge and Brandon Hodges were the runs, and Hodges got on with a double.

Muratorri took loss for Hoosick, while JT Sawyer got the win for Hoosic.

Hoosick Falls is now 8-8 overall and 6-7 in the Wasaren League heading into the season finale today at Greenwich.

Panthers fall to Lady Indians

HOOSICK, N.Y. -- The Hoosick Falls Central School softball team fell to Hoosic Valley 10-2 on Wednesday.

Marissa Charlebois led Hoosic Valley with three RBIs on a 2-3 showing at the plate.

Liz Ryan went 3-3 in the leadoff slot for Hoosick Falls, and Maddy Ryan drove in a run for the Panthers.

Alyssa Ellis took the loss, while Tracy Anderson got the win.

BBA boys tennis wins

FAIR HAVEN -- In a tennis match on Tuesday, the Burr and Burton Academy team maintained its perfect record with a 7-0 decision against Fair Haven at Fair Haven.

Peter Oh rallied from a first set loss to win 5-7, 6-0, 10-7 at first singles, while Sam Cochrane, Noah Wetherald, Coley Stillman and Christian Webb all won in straight-sets to round out singles play.

In doubles action, Conor Harrington and Nick Fayette won at first doubles 6-0, 6-0 and at second doubles, Justin Walla and Cam Marcellus won 6-1, 6-1.

BBA is now 10-0 on the season.
