WHITE RIVER JUNCTION -- Hayley Sabol scored six times and Katy Jones added another five as the Burr and Burton Academy girls lacrosse team rolled over Hartford 22-2 on Friday afternoon.

Aggie Bisselle, Ryder Ferrone and Jessie Forstmann each had two goals and an assist in the win.

Lauren MacKenzie had a quite day in the cage for BBA, registering only two saves in the win.

The Bulldogs improve to 5-2 on the year and return to action on Tuesday at home against Mount Anthony.

Indians hold on for win

CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- Up two entering the fourth period, the Cambridge Central School boys lacrosse team hung on for a 9-8 win over Schuylerville on Friday afternoon.

Chris Warnke had four goals to power the Indians while Jarred Sausville added three goals and an assist. Kordell Benson scored his first varsity goal for the Indians, and it turned out to be the game-winner.

Christian Hunt had five saves in net for Cambridge.

Zach Pierce led Schuylerville with three goals and an assist.

Cambridge moves to 5-4 with the win.

Patriots girls tennis tops Otters

BRANDON -- The Mount Anthony Union High School girls tennis team rolled past Otter Valley 6-1 today.

Jessie Kuzmicki, Margaret Curtin and Grace Page all picked up wins at singles, while Foram Patel won by forfeit at fifth singles.

In second singles, Keara Sternberg won one set, but fell in the second set and lost in the tiebreaker.

The doubles teams, Nicole Monick and Taylor Tobin along with Julia Parks and Samantha Greene won by forfeit to take their matches.

MAU improves to 2-3 with the win.

Hoosick softball blanked

SCHUYLERVILLE, N.Y. -- It was tough going for the Hoosick Falls Central School softball team as the Panthers fell to Schuylerville 15-0 on Friday afternoon.

Abby Gilson and Chelsea Stevens picked up the only two hits for Hoosick Falls. Alyssa Ellis went all five innings for Hoosick, walking four while striking out one.

Jessica Kelleher got the win for the Black Horses, while Caitlin Kelleher had four RBIs in the win.

The Panthers fall to 5-7 overall and 5-3 in the Wasaren League.

Cambridge baseball falls

CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- The Cambridge Central School was blanked by Hoosic Valley, 7-0, on Friday.

Austin Dean got a single for Cambridge in the loss and pitched all seven innings for the Indians.

JT Sawyer got the win for Hoosic Valley.

Cambridge falls to 1-7 in the Wasaren League and 1-10 overall. The team returns to action today at home against Greenwich.

MAU baseball downed

BELLOWS FALLS -- The Mount Anthony Union High School baseball team lost at Bellows Falls, 10-1, on Friday afternoon.

Matt Upright had a double for MAU, which scored its only run on a bases-loaded walk in the third inning.

Ellis Baker started and took the loss for MAU, going four innings. Brody Farnum and Devin Babson pitched in relief.

MAU falls to 2-4 with the loss and returns to action on Tuesday against Hartford.

Errors cost Panthers

SCHUYLERVILLE, N.Y. -- Errors proved costly for the Hoosick Falls Central School baseball team as the Panthers fell to Schuylerville 6-1 on Friday.

HFCS scored its lone run when Tom Peabody scored on a groundout by Garrett Wright.

Wyatt Whitman got the start, and took the loss, going four innings for Hoosick Falls.

The Panthers fall to 4-5 overall, 3-4 in the Wasaren League and return to action today at Fort Plain.
