BENNINGTON -- The weather is still an issue in New England, and the Southern Vermont College baseball and softball teams are feeling the effects.
The baseball team, after already having two games during the week postponed, added Saturday’s double-header to the list of games that have to be made up later in the season. The team was scheduled to travel to Daniel Webster College for a 12 p.m. start.
The softball team had its second double-header of the week postponed, with Saturday’s trip to Elms College postponed to April 2.
SVC baseball still has a game scheduled for Sunday at home against Daniel Webster, with first pitch set for 12 p.m.

Babe Ruth registration
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington County Babe Ruth will hold registration for the 2014 season on April 1 and 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennington Fire House on River Street.
Anyone from 13 to 15 as of May 1 living in Southern Vermont or eastern New York is eligible.
Bring a birth certificate to registration if you haven’t played Babe Ruth before.
Registration fee is $100 per child with a $150 family maximum and 40 percent is dedicated to fundraising efforts.

Bennington Road Race
BENNINGTON -- The 36th annual Steve Zemianek Bennington Road Race will be held on Sunday, May 4 beginning at the Park McCullough house in North Bennington.
The event this year is being dedicated to the memory of local educator and marathon runner Gail Harwood. The race is produced and directed by the Batten Kill Valley Runners.
As in past years, all net proceeds will be donated to the Mount Anthony Union High School Zemianek scholarship fund.
Races start at 9:30 a.m. with the kids race. The 3.8K and 10K races will be run simultaneously beginning at 10 a.m.
Registration is $15 in advance and $20 after May 1. A t-shirt will be given to the first 200 registrants of the 3.8K and 10K races.
Runners can register online at runreg.com. Paper registration forms are available at Wills Insurance, Bennington Recreation Center, Off the Wall, Anytime Fitness, Shaftsbury Country Store, Bennington Sports Center and all schools in Bennington and North Bennington.
Bennington Basketball School
BENNINGTON -- Applications are now being accepted for the Bennington Basketball School for boys. The program runs from July 7 through July 11. The 12-15 year old camp will run from 8 a.m. to noon, with 7-11 year olds going from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
This is the 43rd year of the school.

SVC basketball camps
BENNINGTON -- Registration is now open for the 2014 Southern Vermont College Basketball Summer Camp.
Interested boys and girls entering grades 3-11 can sign up by visiting www.svcathletics.com and downloading a registration brochure.
The camps will run June 30 to July 2, July 14 to July 18, July 21 to July 25 and August 4 through August 8. Each session goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
