WEST RUTLAND -- The Arlington Memorial High School girls basketball team was unable to get on track on Thursday night, as West Rutland avenged its Division IV semifinal loss to the Eagles with a 68-25 win.
Mikayla Dambrackas led the way for the Golden Horde (1-0) with 19.
Julia Lacoste led the Eagles (1-1) with 12, the second time this season she’s been the top scorer. Molly Elwell added five. Arlington returns home Saturday for a matchup with Rochester at noon.
Hoosick bowlers rout Granville
GRANVILLE, N.Y. -- Hoosick Falls continued its winning season, topping Granville 4-0 on Thursday.
The Panthers outscored Granville by nearly 900 pins.
The top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Ken Marbot, who threw a 296 high game and a 737 series, and Stephen Surdam with a 253-615. Jen Sargood was right behind with a 224-614.
Granville’s top bowler was Cole McCullen with a 188-532.
HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Hoosick Falls Central School is seeking highly qualified coaches for the 2014 -2015 school year.

Hoop shoot contest
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Elks Lodge will be holding its annual hoop shoot contest on Sunday, December 29. The event will take place at the Mount Anthony Union High School gymnasium.
Registration starts at 12:30 p.m., and the competition will start at 1.
The contest is for boys and girls ages 8-13, with their age being determined by how old they are on April 1, 2014. A birth certificate is required at registration.

MAU youth wrestling
BENNINGTON -- Mount Anthony youth wrestling sign-ups will be held in the high school cafeteria on Friday, Dec. 20 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Registration is $40 per wrestler with fundraiser, or $65 without fundraiser, and $30 for each additional family member.
