Trailing at halftime, the Bengals went on a big run, capped by Jenna Erickson’s 1,000th point. Erickson led all scorers with 25 points.
The Panthers’ Frankie Pearson and Rachel Pine each scored 11 to lead Hoosick Falls.
Hoosick Falls drops to 10-5 on the season.
Eagles double-up BR
BLACK RIVER -- The Arlington Memorial High School boys basketball team used a 20-6 second quarter to double up Black River, 69-34, on Friday night.
DJ Jennings led the Eagles (7-5) with 18 points. Alex Trayah added 12 and Troy Sweet chipped in with eight to propel Arlington to its third win in a row.
CCS drops to Stillwater
STILLWATER -- Cambridge trailed 31-9 at the half in a 54-25 loss to Stillwater on Friday night.
Elizabeth Zehner had 17 to lead the Warriors, while Abbey Higgins added 10.
Sarah Cuddihy led the Indians (3-10) with 12 points, while Olivia Mooney chipped in eight.
Panthers clip Tamarac
HOOSICK, N.Y. -- Evan Phillips scored 14 points to lead Hoosick Falls past a game Tamarac squad, 44-34, on Friday night.
Austin Pitt added 10 for the Panthers, who improve to 8-7 overall and 7-5 in the Wasaren League.
Tamarac (2-9, 4-10) was led by Mike Bornt’s 10 points.
CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- Stillwater’s John Hoin led the Warriors with 22 points as they used a big second quarter to down Cambridge, 56-42.
Cambridge (0-13) led 13-8 after the first quarter, but a 20-6 run gave Stillwater all the momentum.
Jake McCumber added 10 for Stillwater. For Cambridge, Shaeden Mosso led with 16 points, while Ethan English added nine.
Fourteen earn NECC honors
BENNINGTON -- The New England Collegiate Conference announced the 2012 Fall Academic All-Conference teams, 14 of whom are representatives from Southern Vermont College.
To be eligible for the NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher.
Of the 14 Mountaineers honored, four are receiving the recognition again: Men’s soccer player Douglas Spingola, women’s cross country runner Sara Burds and women’s volleyball captain Danielle Healis were each named for the second-consecutive year, while women’s soccer player Danielle Celotto was recognized for the third year in a row.
"Our coaches are committed to the whole success of our student-athletes. We take great pride in those who have achieved as both students and athletes," said Athletic Director Michael McDonough.

BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Young Women’s Softball League is hosting their annual sign-ups. All girls ages 7-12 as of January 1 are encouraged to sign up.
Returning player sign-ups will be held Feb. 12, at the Bennington Fire House on River Street from 6 to 7 p.m. New player sign-ups will be held Feb. 26 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. All first-year players should bring a copy of their birth certificate. Lax officials offer training
BENNINGTON -- The Vermont Lacrosse Officials Association will be offering training clinics throughout the state for individuals interested in officiating boys lacrosse.
The clinics will include 2 man mechanics, technical and personal fouls, field mechanics, proper signaling, verbal and visual communication, penalty enforcement and pre and post game preparation. The clinics are free and pre-registration is required. The clinics will be held on the following days and locations:

Tryouts are Feb. 3 and 10 at Arlington Memorial High School at a time to be announced.
Anyone is eligible to try out, but serious candidates should have the equivalent of a varsity skill level.

BENNINGTON -- The Monument Soccer Club has sign-ups next week at the Bennington Sports Center.
Monument is a soccer club that participates in the Capital District Youth Soccer League in the spring and runs from April-June with a 10-game season.

Zemianek road race returns May 5
BENNINGTON -- The 35th annual Steve Zemianek Road Race will take place on May 5 at the Park-McCullough House in North Bennington.
There are three different runs, a 3.8-mile course, a 10K course and a half-mile fun run for children.
The entry fee is $15 to pre-register and $3 for the fun run. A family of four can register at a reduced rate of $40.
Awards will be given to the top male and female runner and the top three in each age group.
