HARTFORD -- The Burr and Burton Academy boys hockey team kept their hot streak alive, winning their sixth game in a row, 2-0, on the road against Hartford.
Brock Pollard scored his 13th goal in the second period to give the Bulldogs the lead. Then Henry Buckley scored his seventh of the year in the third period for the final margin.
Senior goaltender Zack Stewart was perfect in net, making 26 saves for the now 8-3 Bulldogs.
BBA puts their six-game winning streak on the line Saturday when they travel to Milton for a 6 p.m. start.
BBA drops 5th straight
MANCHESTER -- The Burr and Burton Academy girls hockey team fell 4-0 to Essex on Wednesday night at Riley Rink, suffering their fifth straight defeat.
BBA was shut out for the third time in four games against top Metro competition in South Burlington, Spaulding and Essex.
BBA drops to 4-6-1 on the season and travel to Lake Region for a game Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
Zemianek road race returns May 5
BENNINGTON -- The 35th annual Steve Zemianek Road Race will take place on May 5 at the Park-McCullough House in North Bennington.
There are three different runs, a 3.8-mile course, a 10K course and a half-mile fun run for children.
The entry fee is $15 to pre-register and $3 for the fun run. A family of four can register at a reduced rate of $40.
Awards will be given to the top male and female runner and the top three in each age group.

Monument Soccer signups
BENNINGTON -- The Monument Soccer Club has sign-ups next week at the Bennington Sports Center. Monument is a soccer club that participates in the Capital District Youth Soccer League in the spring and runs from April-June with a 10-game season.
Any interested boy or girl from U8-U18 can sign up.
