MANCHESTER -- Burr and Burton Academy built up a 4-1 lead after one period and never looked back Wednesday, rolling past Brattleboro, 6-1, in girls hockey action at Riley Rink.
Mary Leech fired in two goals and an assist and Aggie Bisselle added a goal and two assists to lead the Bulldogs, who improve to 3-0 on the season and travel to face perennial power BFA-St. Albans on Saturday.
"With the big rink, our speed really set us apart from them," BBA coach Ed Lewicki said. "As a team, we worked really well on some of our systems in the second and third periods."
Erin Thompson, Daisy Sullivan and Olivia Warren also found the back of the net for BBA, which got 14 saves in two periods from goaltender Kaylie Benson, who earned the win.
Madison Doucette scored the Colonels' lone goal. Brattleboro goalies combined to stop 12 shots.
