Flagg earns NECC award

BENNINGTON -- Southern Vermont College freshman Amber Flagg has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women’s basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 18.

In the Curry Tip-Off Tournament this past weekend against Curry College and Johnson State College, Flagg averaged 14.5 points per game, being named to the All-Tournament Team along the way. The guard also grabbed seven rebounds per game in the two Mountaineer losses.

"I’m very happy for her. She performed much higher than I had expected she would for her first two collegiate games," said SVC coach Mike Quinn.

Southern Vermont plays next on Nov. 27 when they visit New England College.
