    08/28/2015 10:01 PM EDT - SARATOGA SPRINGS >> As American Pharoah and exercise rider Jorge Alvarez made their way past the grandstand during the Triple Crown winner's final gallop before the Travers, Alvarado noticed his horse pick up the pace as an estimated crowd of 15,000 fans greeted the 3-year-old.     08/28/2015 10:01 PM EDT - POWNAL >> It's the end of an era for the "Moonlight in Vermont" Midnight Road Race on Saturday night, as race director Dave Durfee sees out his last race in charge of the event. The director of the race since 2002, Durfee has helped the popular midnight run go off without a hitch for all but one year since, with that one year taken away due to road construction in the town. Full Story

    Arlington names Ashley Hoyt new athletic director

    08/27/2015 09:23 PM EDT - BENNINGTON >> For the Mount Anthony field hockey team, coach Amber Cottrell goes into her second season with a lot of momentum from her first. While the Patriots finished 5-11 overall, MAU won a playdown game. They also have nine returning players from a year ago.     BBA field hockey ready for season
    08/27/2015 09:21 PM EDT - MANCHESTER >> In the three years since co-coaches Barb Miceli and Julie Fifield took over the Burr and Burton Academy field hockey program, the Bulldogs have gone from one twin, to two wins, to eight — the team's highest win total since they won a Division III title in 2003. The exponential growth seems to indicate that the win total might climb even higher this year. Full Story

    Royals' Cueto falters as Red Sox win 7-2
