SANDGATE >> Old Home Day will be celebrated at the Sandgate Methodist Church at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug 7.

Located about four miles up the Sandgate Road, the Methodist congregation has been part of the Sandgate community since 1817. The Old Home Day celebrates the community's forbears in both the church and in Sandgate itself.

Pastor Joseph Choon will lead the services. The celebration will include traditional hymns, memorials to past members and loved ones, and a sermon devoted to the spirit of the day. A chicken barbecue and desserts provided by the women of the church will follow the service.

Sandgate is a small town with a long history in both the Methodist Church and the state. They invite all those presently residing here and those with roots in the community to them in their Old Home Day on Aug. 7.
