WALLINGFORD (AP) -- Vermont State Police say a 50-year-old man is dead and a 53-year-old woman hospitalized after an incident in Wallingford.
Police won’t characterize the incident that was reported just before 1:15 p.m. Monday by a caller who said two individuals needed attention at a residence on Sugar Hill Road in Wallingford.
After police arrived the woman was taken to the hospital in Rutland while the male was pronounced dead at the home. There is no word on her condition.
Police say the death appears to be an isolated incident, there is no increased concern for public safety and there are no signs of foul play.
Police are not releasing the names of the individuals or the relationship between them until family members can be notified.
The investigation is ongoing.
