My name is Haziq Qari; I am an exchange student from India. I was on a one-year exchange to the United States. My program AFS (American Field Service) was sponsored by U.S. Department of State. I was placed in Bennington by PAX (Program of Academic Exchange). I have been living in Bennington since last August. I have been staying with the Page family and attending Mount Anthony Union High School as a junior.

As the school year will be over, I will be returning back to India soon. Through this letter, I want to express my gratitude to those people who made my stay in the States enjoyable and memorable.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my generous and caring hosts who opened their hearts and let me to stay with them for the whole year. I could not have asked for a better host family. They made me feel like their real son. They enlightened me with the real American life and its festivities, which were unknown to me.

One thing that I am most thankful for this exchange year is that it has given me another family, another mom, dad and siblings. I will always be grateful to them for making my experience an amazing and unforgettable one.

I would like to thank everyone at MAUHS, my esteemed principal, respected teachers, my admirable counselor and all my dear friends who helped me so much during the school year. I learned something from everyone every day. You will be missed.

I would also like to thank my PAX community co-ordinator, Mrs.

Lin Sternberg, who helped in arranging such a great family and high school.

Finally, I thank all the people of Bennington who welcomed me in their community and made me feel very comfortable adjusting to the new life here.

I hope the community will keep their tradition of welcoming exchange students from all around the globe to be hosted here.

I hope every other exchange student will have had the same experience as I had here in Bennington. This year was a special year for me and I thank all the people who made it such a unique one.
