I would like to encourage the voters of the Bennington School District to participate in the special election for the BSD budget to be held on June 11, 2013.
The ballots are now available at the Town Clerk’s Office. The Town Clerk’s Office is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You may vote in person at the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours or have a ballot mailed. If you need a ballot mailed to you, you may call the Town Clerk’s Office at 802-442-1043. The deadline for voter registration is June 5, 2013 at 5 p.m. Vermont State law allows anyone who wants to cast an early ballot to do so without giving any reason.
Voting will be at the Firehouse at the corner of River and Lincoln Streets and the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Vote ‘yes’ on June 11
There have been two proposed budgets for the Bennington School District, and neither has passed. On June 11, a vote will be held on the third proposed budget.
Since Town Meeting Day, more than $1,000,000 has been cut from the budget. Reductions have been made in administrative costs, health insurance, Board expenditures, maintenance expenditures, equipment, contracted services, funding for substitutes, and Special Education expenditures. If the newly proposed budget passes, the property tax result would be just $53.
It is time to approve the Bennington School District budget. Vote "yes" on June 11.
