In the Feb. 6 Bennington Banner, Dawson Raspuzzi wrote an article updating the accreditation status of the SVC nursing programs. We appreciated his thoughtful summary. Unfortunately, the article’s headline might have confused your readers.
Hence, I want to make the following two observations: (1) Our nursing programs are now fully accredited and will remain accredited until the entire NLNAC process is completed; this could take many, many months; and (2) The college itself is accredited by NEASC, and we have been and remain fully accredited through 2019.
The college’s nursing graduates contribute in meaningful ways to the well-being of this region -- indeed the nation. We intend to fight to insure that this high-quality program continues well into the future. As was true before I headed to Washington and as is true now that I have returned, I remain deeply proud of SVC and our nursing program.
