BENNINGTON -- will perform at the Meetinghouse Café on Friday, June 13. Tickets are $15. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Pete Sutherland and Timothy Cummings are two of Vermont’s best-known folk musicians.
Pete Sutherland is a warm-voiced singer and multi-instrumentalist known equally for his potent originals and intense recreations and ago old ballads and fiddle tunes, his performances "...cover the map and shine with a pure spirit, which infuses every bit of his music and cannot fail to move all who hear him" -- The American Festival of Fiddle Tunes.
Timothy Cummings, who is chiefly a piper, is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who enjoys a diverse repertoire, including music from Scotland, Ireland, Cape Breton, Brittany, and Appalachia. He has studied music education and musicology. Tim was the 2002-03 Artist in Residence at The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada (Summerside, PEI). Recent projects have included his first solo album, ‘The Piper in the Holler: Tunes from Appalachia’ (2012, with backing from Pete Sutherland and Caleb Elder).
