June Schedule June 26: Kids’ Power: Energy Alternatives for Today’s Kids with Michael Caduto. Families are invited to an evening of science, storytelling, music and fun. 7 p.m. in the Rotary Room.

June 30: Sign-up begins for the Summer Reading Programs, "Fizz, Boom, Read!" and "Spark a Reaction." Registration begins at 12 noon & continues through the month of July. (The Children’s Room will be closed from 10 to noon that day).

June 30 - August 9: Family Investigation. Discover and explore each family member’s favorites. Receive a special poster to take home and fill out together. Return completed poster and receive a free "Family Read-Aloud Book." Pre-registration required.

June 30 - August 9: Bedtime Math. Here is your chance to make math a part of your daily routine. Visit bedtimemath.org and solve a zany math problem. Track your progress. By the end of the summer, you’ll be a math star and receive a small prize. Pre-registration required.

June 30 - August 9: STEAM Center. Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Math challenges will be posted every week in the Children’s Room. Answer correctly and you will be awarded a small prize & become eligible for a weekly raffle to win a free book.

June 30 - August 9: Machine I.D. Identify a different machine each week from a close-up photo of one of its parts. A small prize will be awarded for each correct I.D.

June 30 - August 9: Spark a Reaction Writing Challenge. 5th - 8th graders are invited to write a story that will "spark a reaction". Can you make your readers laugh, cry, feel afraid or curious? Return it to the library by August 9 for a free raffle ticket. Prizes drawn on August 13.

August 5: E-Textiles. Sew LEDs into fabric & build simple circuits sewing with conductive thread. Participants will be introduced to the possibilities of embedding computational and electronic elements into wearables and home furnishings. 1-4 p.m. For 5th-8th graders. Pre-registration required.
