BENNINGTON -- Vermont musicians Patti Casey and Susannah Blachly will perform together at Bennington’s Meetinghouse Café on Friday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 or $10 for students. The Meetinghouse Café is at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 108 School St., in downtown Bennington.

Patti, best known in Bennington as a member of Woods Tea Co., and Susannah, are two of Vermont’s most talented and best-known singer-songwriters enjoy. They perform together as schedules allow and where they can display their voices, songwriting ability and good humor. They perform a blend of Americana and New England-tinged acoustic music.

Vermont native Patti Casey is a fixture on the northeastern US folk scene. She has recorded four solo albums, and her latest, "The Edge of Grace," is aural testament to, "the sweetest voice and some of the finest songwriting to come out of Vermont" (Vermont Public Radio). Her career has taken her to many places along the way: she has appeared live on "A Prairie Home Companion" with Garrison Keillor, has won Texas’ prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk songwriter’s competition, and was a winner of the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at the legendary Merlefest in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

Fiddler Susannah Blachly is a fiddler has performed with numerous bands over the years (currently, Two Shoes Off) at a wide variety of venues including the Champlain Valley Folk Festival, the New World Festival and Valley Stage Festival.

She has released four CDs of all original material and twice ranked on the Top Ten Best Vermont CDs of the Year in the arts weekly Seven Days.

Robert Resnik, host of VPR’s "All The Traditions", describes Blachly as "a master composer and performer of many styles of music." In 2005 SingOut! magazine published her song "Secret Place" and featured it on a compilation disc with such folk luminaries as Pete Seeger and Maria Muldaur.

That fall she had the honor of sharing the stage (and a couple of songs) with Canadian folk legend Bruce Cockburn at the North Of Eden retreat center.
