BENNINGTON -- Police said they are investigating a vandalism spree that left 34 vehicles with slashed tires.
According to Bennington Police Lt. Lloyd Dean, the hardest hit areas were Imperial Avenue and Grandview Street, but tires were also slashed on Union, Silver, South, and Main Streets. Six of the vehicles were in the parking lot of the Silver Street Apartments.
Dean wrote that most victims contacted police, but some have not. He said anyone who has had vandalism done to their vehicle should call Bennington Police at 802-442-1030 and ask for Officers Robert Murawski or John Behan. He said the incidents happened between 5 p.m. on New Year's Day and 8 a.m. Wednesday.
