Copper theft reported from electrical substation

WHITINGHAM -- State police said they are investigating reported thefts of copper wire from a substation owned by National Grid.

Police said the theft was reported to them Wednesday at 11:46 a.m. Upon investigating police learned there were possible three different thefts at that same location. Thieves entered a restricted area and cut grounding cable from transformers and grounding towers.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact Sgt. Trooper Genevra Cushman at 802-254-2382.
