POWNAL - Authorities said tracks from a stolen motorcycle led them Saturday to the trailer of the alleged burglar.

In a written release, state police said they responded to the report of a burglary Saturday at about 5:16 p.m., at a residence on Vermont Route 346 in Pownal.

The victim, Jessica O'Shea, told police that someone during the night time hours stole a mini motorcycle and a bicycle from a locked barn located behind her house. O'Shea told troopers she followed the tracks of the motorcycle to a trailer located in Burdick's trailer park.

Both the motorcycle and bicycle were observed in plain view on the property of the trailer, which was owned by Ryan Cote, 27. Police said they went to the park and contacted Cote who admitted to stealing the two items.

Cote was arrested and transported to the Shaftsbury barracks for processing, where he was issued a citation to appear in Bennington district court in December to answer to the charge of burglary.
