Two classes at Hoosick Falls Central School are nearly finished learning about how to get a job and now will host a job fair.
Following a successful job fair a year and a half ago, the Polo/Ralph Lauren at Manchester Designer Outlets recently asked the town to put on another one. Town Supervisor and teacher Marilyn Douglas is currently teaching students how to get a job, and the company's request became a final project.
"It fits in with what we've been doing in the class," Douglas said. "We just finished resumés and interviewing skills. There are a lot of students looking for part-time or full-time work for the summer."
Two classes have taken charge of the event by getting companies, advertising, and drawing out a floor plan for where employers will host booths. During the fair, the students will serve as greeters, set up the tables and provide refreshments, which were donated by Stewart's Shop.
"They took the lead on it. They did a lot of marketing, they've made badges to wear and they all did resumés," Douglas said. "We're surprised by the number of businesses."

"We're all working together to promote the area," Douglas said.
Douglas said there is still room for more businesses to participate at no charge. The fair will take place at the Hoosick Falls Armory on Tuesday, May 13 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
"We didn't want to have it be for just students. Everybody can come," Douglas said. "At the last one, students learned from observation, and it's helping out the community."
