HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. — Village police said Thursday they have seized more than $117,000 in cash after stopping a vehicle driven by a Bennington, Vt., man.

Police Chief Robert Ashe said in a release that the vehicle was stopped by the HFPD K-9 unit on Saratoga Street in Hoosick Falls on vehicle and traffic violations. The vehicle was driven by Justin Morse, 20, of Bennington, who faces vehicle, traffic and possession of marijuana charges, Ashe said, and further charges are expected.

Ashe said the police dog Mickey and his handler detected an odor of marijuana and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Most of the cash found was said to be in $100 and $20 bills.

HFPD is now being assisted in the investigation by New York State Police along with Vermont State Police and Bennington Police.
