Minor injuries in Route 7A crash

SHAFTSBURY -- State Police said a woman’s arm was injured Thursday when she caused a crash on Route 7A near Valley View Road.

Police said at 3:50 p.m. a 2006 Honda Accord being driven by Meghan M. Bouplon, 22, of Bennington, was traveling north when she took a left turn. Police said she failed to yield to southbound traffic and collided with a 2009 Ford Escape being driven by Gary C. Dickinson, 73, also of Bennington.

Bouplon was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way, not having car insurance, and not wearing her seatbelt. Dickinson was not hurt.

MANCHESTER -- State Police have cited a woman for allegedly driving drunk with four children in her vehicle.

Carol Rock, 32, of North Rupert, is being cited for a second offense of driving under the influence of alcohol, one count of driving with a suspended license, and four counts of reckless endangerment. All are misdemeanors.

Vermont State Trooper Justin Walker said he stopped Rock’s vehicle Thursday on Depot Street for a defective headlight. Her license was suspended from her first DUI conviction in 2012 and she failed field sobriety exercises. Additionally, one of the children was riding in the cargo area of the 1997 Ford Explorer with no seatbelt or other safety device. All the children were under 15 years old.

Rock is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Unit on July 7.
