BENNINGTON - Mount Anthony Union High School's "Patriot Ledger" Yearbook has been named a Jostens' 2014 National Yearbook Program of Excellence.
According to yearbook advisor Judi Estes, "The program recognizes yearbook staffs and advisors who create engaging yearbooks for their school communities."
"We were truly honored and extremely excited when Mike Lenfest, our Jostens representative, presented us with this award at our yearbook club meeting," said Estes, "It has been a great experience working with the terrific group of students to create this year's book, 'Peace, Love, and Pride.' The staff has taken over 25,000 pictures so far this year, and have over 70 percent of the student body in the yearbook three times or more.
The yearbook will be distributed on May 28 and 29 at school during lunches. We cannot wait for everyone to see it!"
Jostens' National Yearbook Program of Excellence Awards are presented two times a year, in May for yearbooks delivered in the spring and in September for those delivered in the fall.
Recipients are chosen based on the achievement of criteria in three categories - creating an inclusive yearbook, generating school engagement, and successfully managing the yearbook creation process. Jostens was founded by Otto Josten in 1897, and produces yearbooks, class rings, and other graduation-related products.
"Jostens believes passionately in the importance of the yearbook tradition connecting every student to the school story and the school year, and we are honored to recognize these yearbook programs," said Mike Wolf, director of Yearbook Marketing at Jostens, "We understand that a great yearbook does not just happen, and we are dedicated to helping schools strengthen their programs by providing the tools and personal guidance for success.
The National Yearbook Program of Excellence recognizes schools that embrace the yearbook tradition and have built a yearbook program that serves the entire school community."
The MAUHS yearbook program will receive a plaque and banner to be displayed in the school.
