The No. 1 arts and cultural magazine that has run for more than 50 years in the Berkshires grows to include The Shires of Vermont -- Bennington and Manchester -- starting in today's edition.

To unite the region's four seasons of culture and recreation, "Berkshires Week and The Shires of Vermont" will be published year-round on Thursdays in the Bennington Banner, Manchester Journal and The Berkshire Eagle. Berkshires Week and The Shires of Vermont also will serve up updates and news online at benningtonbanner.com, berkshireeagle.com, manchesterjournal.com and berkshiresweek.com.

For decades, Berkshires Week by itself has been the most sought-after source for residents and visitors alike when it comes to the arts, culture, theater and entertainment news and calendar listings. Since the Route 7 and 8 corridors in Southern Vermont and the Berkshires share a cultural and recreational synergy, Berkshires Week and The Shires of Vermont aims to unite its cultural and recreational happenings in one source.

Writers and editors who have long covered the area in the Journal, the Banner and The Eagle will bring their expert coverage to these pages.

In addition, Summer Previews, the annual 70-plus page booklet of cultural events and things to do from Memorial Day to Labor Day, will return to the Banner and Journal in May after a multiyear hiatus.
