Trooper avoids collision, makes arrest

SEARSBURG -- A Vermont State Police trooper had to take "evasive action" Tuesday when a vehicle being driven too fast for the snowy conditions entered his lane while passing another vehicle.

Sgt. Trooper Jesse Robson wrote that he was on patrol around Route 8 when Andrew Mullett, 21, of Stamford nearly collided with him. Robson followed Mullett, flashing his blue lights; however, Mullett did not stop and passed a second vehicle. Mullett then drove up a road leading to Green Mountain Power’s wind power facility, and hit a snow bank. He then attempted to flee down a dead-end road. Robson said Mullett was arrested and has been cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court on March 3.
