Man arrested at State Police barracks

SHAFTSBURY -- Timothy Mayer, 24, of Hoosick Falls, N.Y. was arrested at the Shaftsbury State Police barracks on Thursday. Mayer had had a warrant out for his arrest stemming from a disorderly conduct conviction in June 2011. Mayer had failed to complete his work crew sentence from that charge. Mayer entered the State Police barracks at approximately 10 a.m. on undisclosed unrelated business.

When officers realized he had an active warrant out for his arrest, Mayer was taken into custody and transported to the Marble Valley Correctional Facility.

Police: Domestic Assault in Arlington

ARLINGTON -- At approximately 2:31 p.m. on Friday, State Police responded to a reported assault on Route 7A in Arlington. Upon arrival at the scene, police determined that Marjorie L. Becker, 53, of Arlington had committed a domestic assault, police said.

Becker was arrested and processed at the State Police barracks in Shaftsbury. Becker is currently scheduled to appear in Bennington Superior Court on Monday at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charges, police said. Police make arrest in Pownal

POWNAL -- At approximately 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, State Police responded to a residence in Pownal, where it was reported that a family disturbance had taken place. Upon arrival, police spoke with involved parties and determined that an assault had occurred, according to police.

Eugene Guertin, 43, of Pownal was arrested and charged with domestic assault and interference with access to emergency services, police said. Guertin was issued conditions of release and is scheduled to appear at Bennington Superior Court on Monday.

Single-vehicle accident on Myers Road

SHAFTSBURY -- State Police responded to reports of a single-vehicle accident on Myers Road in Shaftsbury at approximately 10:50 p.m. Police determined that Christopher Monks, 24, of Shaftsbury had been travelling east on Myers Road when he lost control of the vehicle.

Police said Monks was asked to perform a field sobriety test and was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Monks is scheduled to appear Bennington Superior Court on Jan. 6.
