Readsboro budget passes, fire truck reserve fund fails

READSBORO -- The school budget passed with 102 votes. It was not know as of press time what the budget was. Dana Rapp was elected to a school director position with 107 votes.

Helyn Strom-Henriksen was elected to the Select Board with 54 votes.

At the floor meeting Monday all ballot articles passed except one asking if the town would create a fire truck reserve fund, and one asking if voters would donate $2,500 to the Turning Point Recovery Center of Bennington County.

Voters opted to only allocate $5,000 for the purchase of fireworks for the annual Independence Day celebration. Six-thousand, five hundred had been asked.

The municipal budget of $786,697 passed.
