SHAFTSBURY -- Voters rejected an article asking if they would approve a bond for $1,550,000 to build a new town garage with 292 voting "yes" and 505 voting "no."
Kenneth Harrington won a three-year seat on the Select Board with 421 votes, beating Mitchell Race who received 356 votes. Craig Bruder was reelected to a two-year seat unopposed with 568 votes.
All ballot articles passed except one for the Turning Point Center asking for $2,500 which failed by only getting 311 "yes" votes to 433 "no."
Larry Johnson was elected to a three-year School Board seat. Jennifer Arlotta was elected to a two-year seat. Both ran unopposed.
The school budget of $3,184,225 passed with 426 voting "yes" to 254 voting "no."
