HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Authorities reported the arrest of a local man in connection to two separate burglaries last year targeting Farrara’s Pub and Grill in Hoosick Falls.
Brett Stone, 20, of 9 Madison St., was arrested last Thursday by Hoosick Falls police. Chief Robert Ashe said Sunday the arrest resulted after two break-ins at the Classic Street establishment on May 1 and May 29 of last year. Stone was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief -- all felonies. Stone allegedly stole liquor and cash amounting to over $1,000, and additionally caused property damage by forcing in the door.
Stone was arraigned in village court and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail on $25,000 bail. Police said an additional subject is being sought in the investigation, which is continuing. The additional subject, who was not identified, was said to possibly be in Vermont but has ties to both Hoosick Falls and Vermont. New York State Police are assisting in the case.
