BENNINGTON -- The following is a list of bail amounts and conditions of release put on many of the 48 people arraigned Wednesday on drug charges who were arrested as part of Operation County Strike. Police released a list of suspects they were seeking, 63 in all. Some were already incarcerated on other matters and have yet to be arraigned, while others on the list did not have further information available from the court as of Thursday.

Docket information is a matter of public record and is accessible by a public computer terminal at the Bennington Superior Court Criminal Division. The Vermont Department of Corrections also hosts an online "Offender Locator" which can be used to determine if a person is incarcerated in Vermont.

In Vermont, bail can only be used to ensure future court appearances. A person’s ties to the community, ties to other jurisdictions, and the severity of charges can be factors considered by a judge when hearing bail or conditions of release arguments.

Unless otherwise stated, each defendant listed was required to not leave Bennington County and not possess a controlled substance without a valid prescription should they be released. Two courts were used for hearings and in some cases the presiding judge said whatever the defendant claims as a residence after posting bail is where the curfew will be served.
