No injuries in crash

POWNAL -- State police said no one was injured in a crash Friday morning when a New York woman pulled out of the North Pownal Post Office parking lot on Route 346 in front of a vehicle being driven by a Massachusetts man.

Judy S. Warren, 65, of Melrose, N.Y., was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was hit by Joseph N. Wright, 39, of Williamstown, Mass. who was driving a 2006 Toyota Tacoma. The accident occurred at 8:34 a.m. Neither driver was injured and their vehicles sustained minor front end damage. Warren's vehicle was towed while Wright's was able to be driven off.

Purse stolen from car

DORSET -- State police said they are investigating the theft of money from a woman's purse which she left in a vehicle at the Dorset Inn.

Hillary M. O'Callaghan, 29, of Pittsford, reported that her purse had gone missing from her vehicle at around 9 a.m Friday, police said. The purse was later found but the money inside was gone. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 802-442-5421.

Wind project protested

FLORIDA, Mass. -- While a crowd gathered Monday to hear Gov. Deval Patrick and other officials celebrate the Hoosac Wind Project, about half a dozen people were just steps away protesting the 19 wind turbines scheduled to be turned on by year's end.

Among them was town resident Michael Fairneny, who has lived with his wife on Moores Road for 29 years. Fairneny is concerned about how the turbines have changed his life, and whether he will have more to worry about once they begin to spin.
