SANDGATE - Authorities reported a rollover accident in Sandgate involving a speeding driver. In a written release, police said the incident was reported at approximately 3:58 p.m. Saturday.
Patrick Sargent, 19, of Sunderland, was identified as the driver of a 2002 Nissan Sentra. According to police, Sargent advised he had been traveling west on West Sandgate Road at approximately 55 mph, when he lost control on a slight curve at the intersection with West Road.
The Nissan sedan left the roadway and struck an embankment, causing it to roll over onto its roof. Police said Sargent had been wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was not injured. The vehicle was totaled.
Police reported cloudy but clear road conditions at the time of the accident, and said Sargent was ticketed for traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Police make arrests, issue court diversion papers after party
NORTH BENNINGTON - A 21-year-old was arrested and cited after authorities broke up an underage drinking party over the weekend. Matthew Wilkinson, of North Bennington, was arrested for enabling alcohol consumption by minors. In a written release, police said they responded to the residence on Lake Paran Road at approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday for a reported party.
When they arrived, police said several underage individuals were located and given court diversion paperwork.
Missing Sand Lake man confirmed dead
NASSAU, N.Y. - Authorities confirmed the identity of an accident victim in the town of Nassau as that of a missing Sand Lake man over the weekend.
State police said the identity of Ryan M. Patton, 28, was confirmed through dental records after his body was discovered Tuesday, Nov. 20. Patton had been reported missing through the Rensselaer County Sheriff's office on Wendesday, Nov. 14, after he failed to arrive home or at work.
Police said state police responded to a report of a vehicle accident on Nov. 20 on a logging road off Hayes Road in Nassau. Their investigation revealed that Patton had been involved in a single-vehicle accident and had succumbed to his injuries.
Upon confirmation of the identity, police said their investigation was closed and ruled accidental.
N.Y. man charged with BB gun shooting
JUNIUS, N.Y. (AP) - A 23year-old western New York man faces an assault charge after state police say he shot another man in the face with a BB gun.
State police in Waterloo arrested Andrew Morseman of the Seneca County town of Junius on Saturday. Morseman is accused of shooting a Waterloo man, who had to go to the hospital to have a BB removed from beneath the skin near his eye.
